Puggernaut Constitution

Last Updated: Thursday, March 18th, 2010 by Thorhoof.

1. Puggernaut is not a guild. Puggernaut does not recommend that you leave your guild to join the Puggernaut Community. Puggernaut does not engage in guild recruiting of any kind.

2. It is recommended that you arrive 10 min before raids you plan to attend. We also recommend that you plan to stay for the entire raid (usually 3-4 hours). Failing to do so may adversely affect fellow raiders.

3. As a member of the Puggernaut community, people skills are very important. We do not tolerate foul behavior, poor sportsmanship, rudeness or angry outbursts. As a member of Puggernaut, you agree to treat your fellow raiders with respect and dignity.

3.1

Help keep Puggernaut a fun and safe place for everyone - please report any Code of Conduct violations you see, including:
• Threats of violence. We take these seriously and will alert the proper authorities.
• Chats, Posts, Tweets, Vent communicating or containing personal information about other players. Physical/email addresses, phone numbers, and inappropriate photos and/or videos.
• Harassing or discriminatory language. This will not be tolerated.

Members who violate ANY of these policies will be removed from the Puggernaut community immediately and subject to permanent ban.

Furthermore, if Blizzard doesn't allow it then neither does Puggernaut. Please review Blizzard's Code of Conduct at:

New as of March 2010:

4. As a temporary measure, Puggernaut is allowing ranking and promotions based only on average gear item level as measured onPugChecker.com

4. Your community rank, which is used to determine which level of raiding you qualify for, is based upon three factors: 1) Your gear score. 2) Your raiding achievement point totals. 3) Your people skills. At the time of this writing, we utilize primarily the average gear score item level as found on Pugchecker.com

5. Favoritism of any kind whatsoever will not be tolerated at all.  We urge you not to test this.

6. We urge you to have and be using Vent for all gameplay.

7. Vent policies - No "back seat raiding" allowed. You are welcome and even ecouraged to listen to the raid in Vent if you are not raiding. However, anyone not raiding is urged to keep quiet, not offer advice unless asked and not whisper raiders unless asked.

8. Puggernaut urges you to study and know all game content you are participating in, before your participate. There are videos and strats available in the Puggernaut Strategy Forums.

9. Puggernaut urges you to bring all raid consumables for yourself, including flasks, pots, meds, foods, etc. Players who fail to do so become subject to vote by their peers, possibly becoming ineligible for loot.

10. Puggernaut strongly urges that game event sign-ups are on a "first come, first serve" basis and by rank. This means for example, that Allstar players should have priority over lower ranking players if its an Allstar-designated game event.  Even if a lower ranking player signs up in advance, he/she should automatically be put on the waiting list.  However,Puggernaut recommends that the raid leader for each raid has the right to final decision when building the raid team. This is to ensure proper raid group balance and individual raid member experience is utilized to its fullest extent.  Favoritism however, will not be tolerated.

11. If you can't attend a game event you signed up for, we urge you to put a comment in your community calendar or PuggerGroup calendar sign up and make yourself "unavailable" by clicking the appropriate button in the raid signups.

13. All Puggernaut members are urged to have and use Deadly Boss Mods add-on, or the equivalent. Paladins are urged to use PallyPower. Healers are urged to use Healbot, or the equivalent.

14. It is highly recommended that you join our in-game chat channel. You can do so by typing /join Puggernaut.  WoWtwitter is also part of the Puggernaut Network.  It allows you to tweet as your character and keep up with the community while outside of the game.  Sign up here!

15. Game Event Cancellation Policy

A) 10-player game events:

If no more than three people sign up the raid leader has the option to cancel or reschedule the raid. In most cases, we try to reschedule so that those who did sign up will have another opportunity.

B) 25-player game events:

Same policy but if less than nine people sign up.

C) 5-player game events:

Same policy if less than 3 people sign up.

16. Team Leaders & Assistant Team Leaders:

A) During the sign-ups period the raid leader will choose a both a Team Leader & an Assistant Team Leader from those players who he or she slots for the raid. To qualify you simply need to be an active Puggernaut community member, whom has proven trustworthy, dependable and knows the fights. This can be any Puggernaut member and the raid leader will always try to choose a different Team Leader & Assistant for each raid.

NEW AS OF MARCH 3, 2010:

B) The purpose of the Team Leader & Assistant is twofold:

i. To ensure the raid continues to move forward as planned if the Raid Leader gets disconnected and is not able to rejoin the raid. If this happens, the Team Leader will assume command and lead the raid. Should both the Raid Leader and the Team Leader disconnect or are unable to continue with the raid for whatever reason, the Assistant Raid Leader will take charge and assume the same responsibilities.

ii. Team leaders are responsible for leading and instructing their own teams. For example, the DPS Melee Team Leader is responsible for making sure his/her team members understand their roles and responsibilities.

C) Each team must join their own chat channel .  Officially designated channels are:

Team Leaders: /join PugTeamLeaders

Tanks: Type /join PugTanks

Healers: Type /join PugHeals

Ranged DPS: Type /join PugRanged

Melee DPS: Type /join PugMelee

Puggernaut Loot Rules

The goal of the following loot rules is to support the Puggernaut motto, "Community Gaming for All", while rewarding loyal community members for their continued efforts.

Article One: General Rules

A) Puggernaut urges that loot shall be distributed by means of fair roll. This means "main spec" should go first and "off spec" should go second.

B) If no one in the raid rolls on any given item Puggernaut recommends the item should be disenchanted and at the end of the raid, those who did not win anything during the raid will be given the option to roll for the shards.

C) Puggernaut urges you to remember when looting using "Group Loot" please consider this is "Gentleman's rules for looting". Raiders are encouraged to be mindful when looting and not "need roll" on anything that is not a big upgrade or "meant for" use by another class.

D) In cases where there is debate over "meant for", Puggernaut urges raiders to call "Gentleman's Discrepancy" and request a vote. At this point, the raid should stop while this issue is sorted out. Raid leaders should first hear out raider's claims (both for and against) then the entire raid will decide by silent vote (whisper to raid leader).

E) If "Gentleman's Discrepancy" takes more than 10 minutes, raid leaders should decide for the raid. This way the raid event continues to move forward. And don't worry, your loot will indeed drop again. Today is not the end of the world!

NEW AS WELL AS UPDATED AS OF MARCH 3, 2010:

F) Participants in the raid should not call Gentlemen's Discrepancy more than two (2) times total. If beyond that there any questions or concerns remain with the challenging party, he or she is highly encouraged to contact Puggernaut leadership directly and file a formal complaint.

Article 1.1: How to Roll for Loot in Puggernaut Official Recommendation

In all end-game instances (such as Ulduar, ToTC, Icecrown, etc):

1. Puggernaut urges that items that are "best in slot" (BiS) may be rolled on by that class even if it typically does not match that classes armor class or other conventional gear stats.

2. Puggernaut urges that to determine BiS acceptable items the class advocates will post links to resources for that class in the forum thread for BiS for that class and remain responsible for the timeliness of the data in said posts.

3. Puggernaut urges these resources will be the "Official Community Resource" as the justification for BiS rolls.

Example: A Holy Pally rolling on mail healing gear against a Shaman would be justified if the gear were officially recommended as BiS for that level of endgame progression. This does not give that player any added right then to participate in a fair /roll with others for whom the gear is a main spec appropriate. Just because the item upgrades a fews stats does not qualify it for roll under this rule. It must be sanctioned per its placement in the BiS class forum.

Article Two: Group Loot vs. Master Loot

A) Unless special circumstances present the need, or if the raid leader prefers, Puggernaut recommends "Group Loot" be used in all instances except "end game" instances.

B) "Master Loot" should be used at all times in end-game instances

Article Three: "Declared Spec" vs. "Drafted Spec"

A) In all instances raiders should declare their spec at the time of game event signup.  In addition, players should remain their "declared spec" and not change spec unless asked to do so by raid leaders.

B) With respect to changing specs as expressed in Article Three, Subsection A, this rule only should only apply in the following situations:

1. When a tank is asked to dps by raid leaders.
2. When a healer is asked to dps by raid leaders.
3. When a damage dealer is asked to tank by raid leaders.
4. When a damage dealer is asked to heal by raid leaders.

C) In all instances, if a player is asked to change specs for a given boss fight(s), Puggernaut urges that he/she will be given the option to choose which type of loot to roll on, e.g. "dps gear" or "prot gear" or "holy gear".

Article Four: Amount of Loot, Privileges to Loot & End-game Loot

A) Puggernaut urges that there be no limit to the amount of loot one can win. Puggernaut is about keeping things fun and simple. The luck of the draw may not be in your favor today but it might be next week.

B) In end-game instances (such as Ulduar, ToTC, Icecrown, etc), Puggernaut urges that Puggernaut members will receive first choice (any rank) when rolling on "Tier Gear" items.  If no Puggernaut member wants the "Tier Gear"  then guest raiders may roll on it. That said, this applies strictly and only to tier gear, and only in "end-game" instances. The reason for this is to reward our community members for their loyalty and hard work, while also encouraging guest raiders to join the Puggernaut Community. The only one exception to this rule is if the guest raider has completed his/her new member application BEFORE the raid starts AND the raid leader has confirmed this fact.
